Visa

To participate in an internship in Australia, you must meet the requirements of a visa that allows you to undertake an internship.

Eligibility depends, among other things, on your citizenship. In some cases, participants may undertake an internship on a Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) or Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462). Under these visas, an internship can generally last up to 6 months.

If you are not eligible for a Working Holiday or Work and Holiday Visa, a Student Visa (subclass 500) may be an alternative option in some cases. This requires you to enrol independently with an Australian educational institution and comply with the requirements and work conditions of the visa.

Important: Visa requirements depend on your citizenship and individual circumstances. Before applying, we recommend checking which visa options are available to you and reviewing the current requirements of the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Visa information is based on the current requirements of the Australian Department of Home Affairs and may change. Visa eligibility is assessed individually by the Australian immigration authorities.
